Shootout At The Bingo Hall
The days of shootouts outside big city halls may be something that is more suited to films about the Wild West and cowboys but now and again, real life situations occur that show there is still a lot of madness in the world. The time was well beyond High Noon when a gunman and deputy sheriff started firing at each other outside a busy bingo hall in Port Charlotte in American on Monday night. Thankfully it seems that no one was hurt but this gunfight was more than enough to unsettle and shake up a good few of the people in the local area.
Chaos at the bingo hall
Bingo players who arrived slightly late for the bingo action got a front row seat for the entertainment with some of the players being caught up in the scenario. Many bingo players were fleeing the scene and returning to their cars while other players were trying to make their way into the bingo sites. These players were advised of what was going on and that it would be better for them to hold off but you know what some bingo fans are like. Those who were told this but still decided to venture forwards in the hope of getting to their bingo game were treated to a sight that they certainly wouldn’t have expected to see when they left their house that evening.
All bingo players were safe
The gunman had entered the bingo hall and was openly brandishing the weapon around. The authorities were contacted but the first shot had been fired into the air just when the sheriff deputies were arriving on scene. You can imagine the chaos in the bingo hall when this was going on which makes it all the more miraculous that no one was hurt in the melee and stampede for the exits. A great deal of credit must be handed out to the staff at the bingo hall who managed to evacuate all of the patrons safely allowing more space for the authorities to deal with the gunman, who was subsequently arrested.
Some people think that there is not enough excitement in bingo but this incident proves that there can sometimes be too much excitement in the bingo hall! Just remember this the next time you are heading along for a game of bingo and hope for something out of the ordinary to take place!
